APS Annual Meeting 2021
The COVID pandemic makes concrete planning difficult even in 2021. Nevertheless, the APS board has decided to hold an APS Annual Meeting this year. Especially after the cancellation of the 2020 meeting at short notice, the board would like to offer all APS members, interested colleagues and the industry an opportunity for a direct scientific and clinical exchange.
The date in March, which has proven itself for many years, is associated with too much uncertainty this year. Therefore, the annual meeting 2021 will now take place from 21.-24.9.2021 Tuesday (!) to Friday - this time not in Fulda, but in the Kassel Conference Centre. Already now a detailed concept has been elaborated to meet the Corona protection regulations, so that the meeting is planned as a precedence event.
The APS Board also decided to make the theme of the failed 2020 meeting, "Inborn errors of (synaptic) neurotransmission," the main topic of the APS Annual Meeting again this year.
More detailed information to follow soon.

APS Jahrestagung 2020
Due to the cancellation of the 2020 Annual Meeting as a result of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, APS had to deal with a serious financial burden. Since the cancellation was very short-lived, the APS had to pay almost all the costs of the conference planning by the congress organizer, travel and hotel bookings for invited speakers, the rent of the conference hotel and the congress equipment (including sound technology, poster walls).
The Executive Board has made great efforts to keep the losses low and to avert lasting, existential damage to APS. The great understanding of a large part of our sponsors, who were willing to support APS in this unusual situation, has contributed significantly to this.
Our special thanks therefore go to the sponsors listed below who were willing to make a donation or who waived the full repayment of the agreed sponsorship sum (see link). Without this generous support the APS would have used up all reserves and the continuation of the working group would not have been secured.
Preparations for the 2021 annual conference have just begun. The APS Executive Board is aiming for a presence event for this purpose. Further information on this will follow here shortly.
Junge Stoffwechselmedizin (JSM)
